If you saw #Oscaring trending today you might assume it to be about Oscar Pistorius, except for the fact that it was a promoted trend by Sprint.

While Pistorius being charged with murder is one of the biggest stories of the year, the Oscar Academy Awards will be taking place on February 24th.

The PR department at Sprint apparently consists of a bunch of manatees pushing around idea balls. Here are some of the confused tweets from people who thought that the Sprint hashtag was referring to an Olympian murderer.

Austin Krause dampened any future he may have had in professional hockey by intentionally scoring on himself during a game, and as a result has been suspended from school for two weeks.

Yes, they take hockey seriously in Minnesota. Here are some tweets from Krause regarding the incident, which resulted in his team losing 3-2.

Famed Olympian Oscar “Blade Runner” Pistorius, notable for being a double amputee, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp.

He allegedly claims that he thought she was a burglar, and shot her inside of his home. Some find the story that she was surprising him for Valentine’s Day too unbelievable, but yesterday she tweeted something that will greatly support Pistorius’ case.

It would seem that she hints to having something planned for Pistorius, an early surprise arrival at his home perhaps?

According to Nick the Tooth, who, according to extensive (really not that extensive) searches, is someone who works closely with Dana White, the UFC president suffered a “bad attack” on stage during an award ceremony in Ireland:

The attack was apparently a relapse of White’s Meniere’s disease which he has been battling for years.

White had to be helped off the stage but is reportedly okay.

Lil Wayne just wanted to watch some basketball and cheer for his Lakers.

And that, apparently, is enough to be removed from AmericanAirlines Arena.

According to a tweet from the rapper’s official Twitter account, Lil Wayne was forced to leave by police because he was simply cheering for his Lakers:

Last season, Lil Wayne had problems with the Oklahoma City Thunder for not allowing him entrance into a playoff game. Come to find out, he did not have a ticket. So, naturally, there was something else going on tonight besides him just cheering for his Lakers:

That’ll do it.

The man behind SWAT and the deer antler spray that professional athletes, including Baltimore Ravens’ linebacker Ray Lewis allegedly digested, Mitch Ross, is somewhat of a celebrity these days, doing things such as media sessions and, apparently, signing autographs.

Today, according to the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta, Ross was asked for an autograph with the inscription “Deer Antler.” Let what happened next speak for the entire scandal:

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I follow Jose Canseco on Twitter

And you should, too.

So I’m going to do my best to connect Donald Trump to the sports world. The former USFL team owner owns multiple golf courses, so there’s the justification for this post.

Now onto the good stuff. Rapper Mac Miller’s most successful song is entitled ‘Donald Trump’, and it currently has over 75 million views on YouTube.

Trump has previously praised Miller’s song, but now it has apparently occurred to him that there might be some money in it for him.

And now things get personal.

Trump is out of his mind. He should just be grateful for the free press he’s received from the song.

And your leading candidate for 2013 douche of the year is Donald Trump!

14.

There are three locations that actually know of Jen Royle: New York where she got her start on the YES Network, Boston where she currently works as a glorified blogger on her own site, and Baltimore where she was ran out of town by fans who quickly grew tired of her constant insults towards the city and its teams, her lack of journalistic skill and professionalism, as well as her overwhelming favoritism toward New York and Boston. Her time in Baltimore was highlighted by an attempt to sue a local radio station/website for defamation.

These days, when Royle is not being a journalist on her Boston sports site, she is a Twitter firestarter, practically begging for attention by calling out Baltimore, its teams, and its fans. Her latest ploy was an attack at Ray Lewis and the Ravens as they prepare of their first Super Bowl appearance in 12 years:

After Ravens fans jumped on her for the tweet, she deleted it, making it appear as if she was attacked without reason. But, to her delight, she received the attention from Baltimorians that she wanted.

Royle also received attention from an odd source: Jimmy’s Seafood, a well known seafood restaurant located in Baltimore. Jimmy’s works closely with the Baltimore Ravens, frequently scheduling player appearances and also houses radio shows hosted by Ravens players. And as of tonight, they are running a promotion that you cannot beat:
